Back in Puerto Natales, after circling the Torres, we spent quite some time maintaining our equipment. We washed and dried our tent, rinsed the kerosene from the stove with white gas, washed our trekking clothes, recharged the headlamps, cameras and GPS trackers, and lots more stuff…
As we had fancied about the delicious grilled lamb rump with port and apricot sauce so often during the trek we decided to go back to the Afrigonia restaurant and enjoy that dish once again as our first dinner after arriving in Puerto Natales. Unfortunately the cameras were still charging and we only had our phones with us to take pictures this time… 🙁
But the food was just as delicious as we had remembered it. This time we added an entree platter with three variations of king crabs: grilled, mousse and gratin:
And both of us ordered the grilled lamb rump with port and apricot sauce this time. Yummie! So delicious:
We had an Argentinian Cabernet Sauvignon with the main dish which was a good match as well:
And finally our mouthwatering desserts:
After a looong warm shower with strong water pressure, a shave for Andy and a long nights sleep in a real bed we continued our maintenance works, but didn’t forget to enjoy Purto Natales some more. We explored the city and enjoyed the typical Completos:
Since the little Tin House was occupied, we stayed in the “Singing Lamb Backpackers” this time. We met some more interesting people either coming from or going to the Torres del Paine Park and were glad to share our experiences with them.
After two days we left Puerto Natales in the morning, this time with a direct bus back to Ushuaia and without the detour of Puntas Arenas 🙂
Again we took the ferry to cross the Strait of Magellan…
and after crossing the border we arrived in Tierra del Fuego, where we planned to spend few days this time:
